MotoGP | GP Brno FP1: Dovizioso in the lead, Rossi is tenth
The Ducati rider ahead of Marquez and Vinales
MotoGP GP Czech Republic Brno Free Practice 1 – Andrea Dovizioso achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the MotoGP class in Brno, scene of the Czech Republic Grand Prix, tenth stage of the 2019 MotoGP championship.
The Ducati rider set the best lap on the last available attempt with a time of 1:56.919, a time that allowed him to beat world ranking leader Marc Marquez (Honda) by just 29 thousandths.
Third time for Maverick Vinales, who brought the factory Yamaha to 63 thousandths of a second from the top. Surprising are the KTM of Miguel Oliveira, fourth, and the Suzuki of wild card Sylvain Guintoli, fifth.
Jack Miller on the Ducati of Team Pramac set the sixth time ahead of the KTM of Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin and the Yamaha of Team Petronas SRT of Franco Morbidelli.
Closing out the temporary Top Ten are Alex Rins with Suzuki and Valentino Rossi with Yamaha. The Pesaro native suffers a gap from the top of almost a second, exactly 0.908s.
Francesco Bagnaia, despite a fall (without consequences, ed.) was the author of the twelfth time, ahead of the official Ducati of his compatriot Danilo Petrucci.
Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha Petronas SRT) is struggling at the moment; “El Diablo” is eighteenth, while Andrea Iannone with Aprilia is twentieth.
Worth noting is the new fairing brought by Ducati. It seems more similar to the old one, the one Bagnaia uses.
