Moto3 Sachsenring, Free Practice 1: Kent in the lead, Bastianini is third, fractured hand for Oliveira

Moto3 2015 German GP – The riders of the Moto3 class opened the first day of free practice as usual, this time at the Sachsenring, the halfway point of the 2015 world championship. Taking to the track with 13° in the air and 24° on the asphalt, they battled and in the end the fastest of Free Practice 1 was Danny Kent.

The world leader stopped the clock at a time of 1:27.026, a time 0.640s better than that set by rookie Fabio Quartararo and very close to the track record belonging to Jack Miller, starting this year in MotoGP.

Third time for our Enea Bastianini, 0.860s behind Kent. The Team Gresini rider precedes his teammate Efren Vaquez and his compatriot Romano Fenati, in second position until a fall caused him to lose a lot of time in the pits. A fall that wasn't the only one, given that the Frenchman Jules Danilo, the Spaniard Jorge Martin and above all the Portuguese KTM rider Miguel Oliveira also ended up on the ground, falling 32 minutes from the end and unfortunately suffering a compound fracture of the fourth metacarpal . The Team Red Bull Ajo driver will therefore miss this Grand Prix and will immediately fly to Portugal for surgery.

Returning to the time rankings we find Niccolò Antonelli (Honda Ongetta Rivacold) in eighth position and ahead of his compatriot Andrea Locatelli, also on a Honda, but from Team Gresini.

Francesco Bagnaia is instead in twenty-first position, while Andrea Migno is twenty-second. Twenty-fifth time for Alessandro Tonucci (Mahindra), while Matteo Ferrari and Stefano Manzi are in twenty-ninth and thirty-second position respectively.
