Moto3 | Gp Austin Qualifying: pole for Alonso, Rueda and Holgado on the front row

Moto3 GP of the Americas Qualifying – David Alonso (CFMoto) obtained the pole position of the Moto3 class Americas Grand Prix, third round of the 2024 MotoGP.

For the Team Aspar rider it is the first pole of his career (for him five victories since he started racing in Moto3, ed.). The #80 which lapped in 2:14.292 preceded Josè Antonio Rueda on KTM of Team Red Bull Ajo by just 17 thousandths and the GASGAS of Daniel Holgado's Team Tech0.195 by 3s. Alonso's pole is also the first by a Colombian in GPs.

Collin Veijer (Husqvarna Intact GP) will open the second row with the fourth fastest time, alongside Joel Kelso (KTM BOE) and Jacob Roulstone (GASGAS Team Tech3).

Third row for Matteo Bertelle (Honda), who will have to serve a long-lap penalty for having slowed down too much in one sector during testing. David Munoz (KTM BOE) and Stefano Nepa (KTM MTA) will start alongside the Snipers rider.

Good qualifying for the Honda SIC58 Squadra Corse riders, Luca Lunetta finished 11th, while Filippo Farioli achieved 13th, ahead of the disappointment of the qualifying, Ivan Ortolà (KTM MT Helmets – MSI).

Nicola Carraro (KTM MTA) did not pass Q1 and will start from 20th position, immediately ahead of Riccardo Rossi (KTM CIP). The two will then start from the seventh row.
