Moto2 QP Germany – The team driver Estrella Galicia 0.0 Marc VDS, Franco Morbidelli, obtained his fifth pole of the season on the circuit Sachsenring.

In a session affected by the weather, Franco still managed to record his best time 1.32.159 which earned him his fifth pole in this championship:

“At the beginning of qualifying it was very difficult because we had to start on wet tires even though there were already some dry spots on the track. It was difficult to judge where you could push harder and so I didn't go very fast. Then it started raining again and I already thought I had to start in eighth place; it would have been a shame because in the morning we had shown that we had good pace in the dry. I became a little more optimistic when I saw Xavier Simeon's time, achieved on a completely wet track. I went out, trying to push as much as possible and the track conditions were decent enough to take pole. I am very happy with this placement because it comes after various difficulties with sudden climate changes".
