Moto2 Misano, Free Practice 1: Best time for Simone Corsi
The Roman from Forward Racing preceded Zarco and Folger
Moto2 2015 GP San Marino and Rimini Riviera – Simone Corsi set the best time of the first free practice session of the Moto2 class at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
The Roman driver clocked 1:37.910, a time that allowed him to beat the world championship leader Johann Zarco, even if by just 15 thousandths. Good news for Forward Racing after the troubled period due to the judicial detention of its owner Giovanni Cuzari, who was later released, finds his smile again.
Third time for the German Jonas Folger, who next year will be riding the Kalex of Team Intact GP. Fourth, fifth and sixth times went to the Spaniards Axel Pons, Tito Rabat and Alex Rins, ahead of the Swiss Dominique Aegerter, the Australian Anthony West, the Japanese Takaaki Nakagami and his compatriot Julian Simon.
Lorenzo Baldassarri with the second Kalex of Forward Racing was twelfth, while Mattia Pasini, wild card here with the Kalex of Team Gresini, finished fifteenth. Good performance from Luca Marini. Valentino Rossi's brother achieved the twenty-sixth fastest time, while Federico Caricasulo, who also replaces the injured Franco Morbidelli here, is twenty-eighth.
