The Sky Racing Team VR46 driver, Luca Marini, achieved his first podium of the season, finishing the Mugello Grand Prix in second place. An unlucky race however for Nicolò Bulega, who suffered a fall, fortunately without consequences, 14 laps from the end.

Luca Marini: “What a satisfaction the first podium of the season at Mugello: a dream since I was a child when I used to come here to watch my brother race. My favorite track ever, the support from the fans is truly beautiful. Already from this morning, I felt something strange in my stomach, I knew I was competitive and that I could do well and fight for the podium and also for the victory. I tried, but I didn't have any left at the end. I tried to enjoy the lap of honor to the fullest. I want to thank my family, my girlfriend, the Academy, my technical boss, the whole Team and Kalex. They did everything to support me and get back to being competitive. After the test in Barcelona, ​​where I tested Nicolò's bike, we brought a completely new package to the track: frame, swingarm, every screw. In the last two races I had struggled a lot, I had strange sensations while driving and we didn't understand why. Now I have found my usual sensitivity, I enter the curve hard and make my lines. I'm very happy"

Nicolò Bulega: “It certainly wasn't the epilogue I was hoping for for this GP: at the start, a contact with another rider didn't allow me to make the most of fourth place and I ended up in the rear. Unfortunately, in the rush to recover, I lost the front end and I couldn't do anything to avoid the fall. A real shame to end the home GP like this."
