The Sky Racing Team VR46 driver, Luca Marini, came within a whisker of pole position (79 thousandths) and will start in second position tomorrow. Further back was Nicolò Bulega, sixteenth.

Luca Marini: “I'm very happy with this front row, it was needed! The passage from Q1 was a risk, but it helped us to set the bike up as best as possible by taking advantage of the 15 extra minutes. I had more time and was able to find excellent sensations while driving. In Fp3 this morning I struggled more than I could have expected, but we recovered. We concentrated on the pace and I almost always ran on used tyres. We will continue to analyze the data for the race: we have not yet resolved all our doubts about which tire to use. Even the hardest compound can perform. Thanks, as always, to the whole Team and the Academy, they supported me 100%."

Nicolò Bulega: “A difficult qualifying, a real shame after what we saw in Fp3. The conditions were different and I wasn't able to find the same sensations while driving. Something has changed and we need to understand where to intervene to get back close to the group in the race tomorrow. The weather will also be an unknown."
