Moto2 GP Australia Phillip Island Race – Tony Arbolino won the Australian Grand Prix, 16th stage of the Moto2 class.

The extreme weather, the many crashes and the strong wind meant that the race was interrupted after just 9 laps, when the rider from Garbagnate Milanese was leading by a wide margin, over 15 seconds. From there the red flag and initially the announcement of a new race of just 6 laps, but shortly afterwards came the definitive stop, with the score halved.

Just as in the Moto3 class, excellent crashes in the Moto2 class on the alignment lap, this time it was the turn of the world championship leader Pedro Acosta, who then started from the back of the grid and finished ninth, thanks also to the many crashes.

On the podium together with Arbolino were Aron Canet and Fermin Aldeguer, with the latter having dominated all the sessions held in the dry.

Fourth at the finish line was Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini), who preceded Joe Roberts (Italtrans), Izan Guevara (Aspar), Somkiat Chantra (Team Asia) and Bo Bendsneyder (SAG). Ninth was Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo) who preceded Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing).

Dennis Foggia (Italtrans) finished 17th, ahead of Alberto Surra (Forward). Many crashes (all without consequences, ed.), Binder, Van den Goorbergh, Baltus, Salac, Garcia, Lowes, Dixon, Casadei and Vietti.
