iLaps: the new telemetry system available on smartphones

ILaps – anyone who has had experience on the track, but above all those who are already drivers - of any competitive level - knows well how important data acquisition is and how telemetry has become an essential tool for increasing performance.
However, it is often easy to encounter the downside: the high price and difficulty of using this tool.

Today, however, iLaps makes it possible to facilitate the use of telemetry thanks to a new system designed for smartphones capable of detecting all the necessary information during track sessions, without expensive and complex computer programs.
All this is possible thanks to the program interface with SIGMA (Sport Interface GPS Mobile Armour): practical dashboard for smartphones resistant to water and shocks equipped with a GPS that works at a frequency of 50 Hz, capable of guaranteeing a margin of error of less than one meter (compared to the 20 meters of the GPS traditional).

But how does iLaps work? Thanks to the platform IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), a system that detects longitudinal and lateral movements thanks to nine-axis gyroscopes and accelerometers, the GPS it provides data on pitch, cabling, roll and steering with a tolerance margin of 0,06° which will allow optimal setup of the attitude. Once the appropriate changes have been made, it will then be possible to save your set-up sheet, in order to compare the behavior data and improve lap times.

iLaps does not require software to be used: the data collected during the track sessions are transmitted to a cloud, with the possibility of accessing it directly from the internet.
