Most of the teams taking part in the 2017 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season are back on track at Jerez de la Frontera for their final test before flying to Australia for the opening round in three weeks' time.

Today's session, Wednesday 1 February, was heavily affected by rain in the morning: fortunately the asphalt dried in time to allow the riders to clock up kilometers and work before the end of the day.

Jonathan Rea confirms that he is already in championship form: in the afternoon the reigning champion put together a total of 61 laps and set the best time of the day with a 1'39.248.
The only one who worried him was his teammate, Tom Sykes, who completed 64 laps but at the end of the day had a gap of +1.672 from Rea.
Given the times of the two riders and really good data obtained from the race simulations of both, Kawasaki still appears to be the most complete bike and team.

After the weekend spent on the track in Portimao, IODARacing continued its work with the Argentinian Leandro Mercado who achieved the third best time in 1'42.462, although far behind the Ninjas.

Riccardo Russo (Guandalini Racing) had a good day of testing in Southern Spain, and despite a small crash without consequences, he continued to work on his Yamaha YZF-R1 and at the end of the day he achieved the fourth fastest time, with 1.42.544. XNUMX.

Following a positive test in Almeria last weekend, the Pedercini Racing SC-Project will also take place in Jerez, with both WorldSBK and STK1000 riders: Alex De Angelis is fifth with Jeremi Guarnoni behind him.

Illia Mykhalchyk (TripleM Racing) spent most of the day on track, doing long runs and achieving the seventh fastest time of the day, in 1'44.151, making him the third fastest rider in his class, the STK1000, with an advantage of two seconds behind his teammate Marc Moser.

Furthermore, ETG Racing was also on track with driver Xavier Pinsach who will compete in the Superstock 1000 European Championship this year. The Spaniard completed 50 laps and stopped the clock at 1'45.619.
