The reasons of interest of the Brazilian GP

Anyone expecting a subdued Brazilian GP is wrong, as there are still many reasons for interest in this latest GP.

First of all, the world title of the 125 class must be awarded.

The favorite is the San Marino driver Manuel Poggiali who only needs a thirteenth place to become 125 World Champion.

The only one who can challenge Poggiali for the title is his teammate Youichi Ui 23 points behind in the standings.

They both race with the same bike but Poggiali for the Gilera brand, while Ui for the Derbi brand.

Who will be world champion anyway Giampiero Sacchi from Terni with a great passion for engines and Team Manager of the two drivers.

In the 250 class which awarded the world title in the last race to Daijiro Katoh the fight for 3rd place in the world rankings between two Italians is very open.

They are Marco Melandri Aprilia official rider e Roberto Rolfo the fastest private individual in the world riding a standard Aprilia.

The Turin rider is 5 points behind Melandri and, thanks to 'Macio's less than perfect physical form, he could take 3rd place away from him, which would be worthy of mention in a wonderful year.

Finally in the 500 class he saw Valentino Rossi To dominate the season with 10 victories, 2nd place must be awarded and this too sees two Italian drivers fighting.

It is Max
biaggi
e Loris
Capirossi
who is 4 points behind the Roman driver.

For Biaggi, 2nd place would be little consolation given that the Roman was clearly aiming for the title which for various reasons (misunderstandings with Yamaha, crashes and Rossi's skill)
he didn't arrive.

On the other hand, the one who holds 2nd place very much is Loris Capirossi who began the season riding a Honda from last year and who will see his consistency of results rewarded.

In fact, if it is true that Loris has not yet won a GP, he still finished close to the leaders and finishing ahead of Max would be a source of great satisfaction.

Finally also Alex Barros who runs at home could be the protagonist of the race.
