Yamaha presented this week at Eicma, the motorcycle show in Milan, the YZF-R6, the new super sports bike from the Japanese company which will take to the track in the FIM Supersport World Championship with the GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team and Kallio Racing teams, and their respective riders , namely Lucas Mahias and Federico Caricasulo, Niki Tuuli and Sheridan Morais respectively.

“I am very happy to be at EICMA with Yamaha for the presentation of the new YZF-R6” – he said Lucas Mahias – “This new bike is beautiful and I can't wait to ride it! Federico and I had a nice surprise seeing it in racing trim. The original model was very beautiful, but the new version is really fantastic. The presentation was really nice, now I can't wait for 2017!”

The new R6 boasts improved aerodynamics similar to that seen on the R1, and features special racing components, such as the fully titanium Akrapovic Evo exhaust, two Brembo T-drive front brakes, a single Brembo rear brake, telescopic forks, front suspension with an Ohlins spare kit and Pirelli Diablo tyres.
Furthermore, the bike also has new electronics similar to those used on the R1, such as an acceleration control chip and Chip Controlled Intake.

The young Niki Tuuli of the Kallio Racing team was fascinated by the new R6: “The new Yamaha R6 looks really beautiful! I can't wait to drive it! Overall the show was excellent, there are new Yamaha models on display and many journalists from all over the world, even from Finland. When Valentino Rossi came to the stand, he made my day even more."

The GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP and Kallio Racing teams will take to the track for the first tests with the R6 in November.
