Superprestigio Dirt Track: A great Marquez falls and surrenders to Baker
Great show at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona
The Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona welcomed two-wheel enthusiasts for the Superprestigio Dirt Track.
Marc Marquez impressed spectators with incredible style aboard his Honda. The world champion has proven to be very competitive even outside the classic speed circuits, thus anticipating a very interesting duel with the American Brad Baker.
Tito Rabat and Baldassarri also stood out on the Sant Jordi indoor track, very fast in the first qualifying sessions. For the Superprestigio category, following the initial qualifications (6 laps per round), Marc Marquez, Tito Rabat, Aleix Espargaró, Lorenzo Baldassarri, Johann Zarco, Julian Simón, Ricky Cardús and Kenny Noyes had access to the final.
In the Open category, Baker had no rivals and maintained absolute dominance, winning the final.
The results of the four Superprestigio finals were as follows:
1-Marquez-Rabat-Noyes
2-Noyes-Rabat-Marquez
3-Marquez-Rabat-Noyes
4-Marquez-Baldassarri-Espargaró
Espargaró, Noyes, Rabat and Marquez qualified for an exciting superfinal. Baker and Marquez dominated much of the challenge, until Marc's crash, which ended the battle between the two number ones. The winner of the race was therefore Baker, followed by Rabat and Noyes.
