USA Superbike: Sykes “Tough with three starts, but it went well”
The Englishman is increasingly leading the rankings
di Chiara Rainis29 September 2013
Tom Sykes Saturday afternoon's victory was a double. Unexpected given the superiority of his rival Guintoli in the first two stages of the race and useful at the end of the world championship as it allowed him to pull ahead of the Frenchman from Aprilia.
“It was tough having to face three starts, but in the end it went well – the Englishman's words – During the last phase Sylvain had some problems and this worked in my favor; among other things, at the start we touched and my brake lever lowered, so I had to get used to that unusual position. I also fought for a long time with the BMW pair, who were really in form in the final sprint race, but my Ninja proved to be competitive. Now the focus is on Race 2."
