USA Superbike: Melandri “Nice to be back at Laguna Seca”

SBK arrives at Laguna Seca and for the team BMW Motorrad GoldBet the chase for the world podium resumes.

“I have excellent memories of this track. I raced there when I was in MotoGP and I achieved two podiums – the words of Marco Melandri – In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful tracks on the calendar and I am very happy that we chose to return. Our bike should work at its best. I feel good and continue to train for the next rounds. It will be a challenging end to the season where I want to give my best."

“For some reason I have always found the rhythm easily on this circuit and having raced there quite often in the AMA championship, perhaps I will have a slight advantage. Along with Portimao it is one of my favorites and then there is the 'corkscrew' challenge, so steep, but exciting to watch – comment by Chaz Davies – Here you don't have a moment to breathe and you really have to manage the bike because the track is built following the contours of the terrain, without the help of any computer or designer. Our goal for the weekend is always a double podium. Regarding the standings, I don't think I have much of a chance, even if there are many points still up for grabs. In any case everything depends on podiums and victories and we are aiming for this."
