As they say, between the two litigants the third one enjoys and in fact the one who emerged victorious from the first Turkish heat was not Tom Sykes or even Sylvain Guintoli, but Eugene Laverty su Aprilia official, who calmly let both of them vent for most of the race and then launched the decisive attack a few laps from the end.

Same story for Marco Melandri too, unconvinced of his BMW's pace at the start, but gradually more confident enough to gain second place.

The Kawasaki Racing rider therefore had to settle for the last step of the podium, but still managed to precede the Frenchman's RSV4 from which he had stolen the championship lead in the last event.

Fifth was Davide Gugliano of the Althea team, protagonist of a rather dirty maneuver against Toni Elias, author of an excellent performance, on the finish line in the final lap. The Italian, in order to pass, actually moved the Spaniard who did not fall only thanks to his ability to hold the bike.

Quiet race for Jules Cluzel, seventh on the Suzuki and for Chaz Davies, eighth on the BMW. Another thrill however was always experienced at the checkered flag between the Honda Pata duo with Michel Fabrizio pushing Leon Haslam onto the curb risking ending up on the ground and goodbye to ninth place.

Of note is the twelfth place of Vittorio Iannuzzo with the S1000 RR of Grillini Dentalmatic and the retirement of Ayrton Badovini due to a problem with the engine of his Panigale.
