The Althea BMW Racing Team is ready to face the resumption of the World Series Championship, which will take place this weekend at the Eurospeedway Lausitzring in Germany, and will therefore be the home race for the manufacturer and for Markus Reiterberger, who will return after three weeks off.

The team is happy to confirm that the young German has fully recovered from the compression fracture of the D12 vertebra suffered during Race 2 in Misano, and will take part in the Pirelli German Round together with Jordi Torres and Raffaele De Rosa, who will return to STK1000 after having replaced Reiterberger at Laguna Seca.

The Italian team, with Torres and De Rosa, had the opportunity to test on the Lausitzring circuit at the end of July, with positive results: Reiterberger had not been able to participate in those tests, but his knowledge of the Lausitzring is already good, having raced here in the German championship.

In the Superbike classification, Torres is seventh with 155 points, while Reiterberger is 12th with 68 points; in Superstock 1000, De Rosa is still leading the standings, with 82 points.
The objective for the Italian team is to increase the points in the standings and end the season with a podium; in STK1000 obviously all efforts will be concentrated on the title.

“Honestly I can't wait to get on track since, apart from a few tests, we haven't ridden since mid-July! I took advantage of the opportunity to rest a bit but it was also important to continue training, so that I was prepared for the last part of the season" he declared Jordi Torres – “I rode the enduro bike, the motocross bike and the pit bike, practically everything! It will be important to do well this weekend, Markus returns to race at his home and it is also BMW's home race obviously, so we will want to do well. It's been useful to do some testing at the Lausitzring lately, so at least I get there with some reference. The objective always remains the same: give your best, continue to learn and bring home all the points possible in these last eight races of 2016."

“I have to say that, despite this forced stop, I feel very good and I can't wait to race the Lausitz, given that it is my home race and that many fans, friends, sponsors and my family will come. The last few weeks have not been easy for me” – he said Markus Reiterberger – “It was the most serious injury I've had and I did a lot of work and physiotherapy together with the doctors, to be able to get back on track as soon as possible, after 2 and a half months. I don't feel exactly like before, but I'm good and I think I can have two good races this weekend. First I have to find the feeling with my BMW and then, step by step, we will improve over the weekend. I'm a little nervous, and it won't be easy after this long break, but I'm also excited to be able to start again."

“It's finally starting... It seems like we're about to start all over again, as if it were a new season even though there are only three races left. The summer break was practically longer than the winter one, and now I can't wait to start again” – he said Raffaele De Rosa – “In the last tests we carried out in Germany we went quite well and this gives me confidence. We are ready to reopen the fight with Mercado and the others, the important thing is that we continue to work hard and stay focused for these last three races”.
