The Red Bull Honda WorldSuperbike Team has just finished two days of testing on the German Lausitzring track, where the Prosecco DOC German Round is scheduled for 18 to 20 August, when the Championship resumes after the summer break.

Following the absence of Stefan Bradl, test rider Michele Magnoni and Davide Giugliano, fresh from his unsuccessful adventure in the English Superbike, took charge of the development work of the new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2.

The two Italians completed over 100 laps in two days, coping with both dry and wet conditions, and Team Honda is satisfied with the development of the bike, and with having tried some new solutions in the electronics package.

Marco Chini, manager of the Honda WorldSBK project, explained: “First of all, I want to thank Michele Magnoni and Davide Giugliano for their professionalism and their availability in helping us with the development work. The team continues to develop the bike one small step at a time. We can verify that Davide Giugliano is back in great shape and his great experience with the production derivatives has been really useful to have a better understanding of the current level of the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2. Davide certainly deserves to be considered among the number of riders who could race alongside Stefan Bradl in the remaining rounds of the season."
