In view of the final part of the season, with the last five rounds, the Kawasaki Racing Team also carried out an important private test session at EuroSpeedWay Lausitz, where the Prosecco DOC German Round will take place from 18 to 20 August.

Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes lapped both days, even in wet conditions, at record times, shattering the track reference time set last year by Chaz Davies in qualifying, 1'37"357: 1'36"6 for Rea and 1'36”7 for Sykes.
Their work mainly focused on optimal set-up in view of the resumption of the Championship, precisely on the German track, where Rea struggled last year and Sykes achieved a second place in the dry.

“After last year it was very important to do this test at the Lausitzring,” – he explained Jonathan Rhea – “We carried out a functional test for KHI and evaluated some ideas for the chassis and front suspension. The weather changed after lunch, as we expected, and so we closed the garage. We were able to evaluate all the elements of the plan before it rained thanks to Pere's good plan. Yesterday we were also able to run a race simulation and it's nice to see that we have improved the overall base of the bike compared to last year."

“We tried different elements in this test and the responses from the bike were all good. We set strong lap times and found consistency” – he declared Tom Sykes – “With the standard race tire I set a 1'36.7 after seven laps. I'm happy with this because I think it was the same as my previous lap in Superpole. We were going to try a few more things on the last day, but the rain came again in the afternoon and called it a day. Overall, it was a successful test at the Lausitzring. I think we are ready to race on this track and also to do it at a high level."
