Following the official move of Michael van der Mark from the Honda WorldSbk team to the Pata Crescent Yamaha team, where he will find Alex Lowes, the 2014 World Series Champion Sylvain Guintoli is now looking for a bike for next season.

For the Frenchman, what is about to end has been a difficult season, in which he had to deal with a bad ankle fracture, suffered during qualifying for the Imola round, which has kept him away from action on the track since the end of April.
Fortunately for him, the recovery phase is now over and we will see Guintoli again at the Pirelli German Round, scheduled for 16 to 18 September at the Lausizring, determined to do well in these last four rounds with Yamaha, to lay the foundations for his future away from Japanese house.

“At the moment, nothing has been decided yet” – he said Sylvain Guintoli – “I had a one-year contract with Yamaha. I'm looking at the options, but nothing is decided. My biggest desire is to stay in World Superbike and have a competitive package. If I can't have a similar situation, we'll see, but I'm working on this. You have to go step-by-step. That's my first goal. There are still several competitive bikes available, but not many. There are many British drivers in this championship; I think it's nice to have different nationalities fighting at the top, and I could do it with a good bike (laughs)! It would be good for the championship."

The French driver underlined that, despite his 34 years, there are no doubts about his motivations or competitiveness.

“I'm riding well” – continued Guintoli – “Since I won the title I've driven well, including last year with a strong teammate like Mickey (van der Mark), but I had beaten him in the championship. This year I was riding well before the accident, so by the end of the season I hope to pick things up where I left off and get my speed back. For next year I would really like to have a competitive bike to be able to stay in front with the Kawasakis and Ducatis."
