The 26-year-old underwent surgery today and the operation was completed successfully: his recovery phase now begins.

A statement released by the Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team reports: “The operation carried out to treat Michael van der Mark's fractured right radius after the Misano crash in FP2 was successful. The pilot was operated by Doctor Alfredo Bitonti and coordinated by the department coordinated by Doctor Stefano Landi of the Rimini hospital. Van der Mark will return to Rotterdam this afternoon. At the moment it is not yet possible to estimate how long the recovery time will be."
