Superbike Portimao: the statements of Tom Sykes and Loris Baz at the end of the Portimao races
Sykes happy for race 1, sad for race 2. Baz is already thinking about Magny Cours
di Francesca Galbiati23 September 2012
After the victory in race 1, Tom Sykes was forced to retire. Two seventh places for Loris Baz.
At the end of the Portuguese weekend, here are the statements from the Team Kawasaki riders.
Tom Sykes:
“The first race was fantastic; Melandri's fall favored us. Race two wasn't as lucky; when I realized that the engine wasn't working anymore I wanted to kill myself. However these things happen in motorcycling. Before this weekend we were third in the standings, now we are second and still mathematically fighting for the title. I think this is already a great success.”
Loris Baz:
“They were difficult races, I didn't have enough confidence with the bike but I'd say that two seventh places aren't that bad. Now let's go to Magny Cours; I love that track and know it very well. I think I can do well there, we'll see what happens."

Great Sykes, you are always one of the nicest and most sporty in the category.. Let's hope for 2 good races in Magny..
Even Baz is really going strong for a rookie!!
Go Verdona!!
...you said it right, great greenie...he hasn't won since '93 with Russel...I remember that at the time I was a huge fan of the various SBK riders, I always preferred them to those of the world championship...mind you that I wrote world championship and not motoGP, that says it long on the races I follow...and also on my age!!!
