He had to win and he did: Chaz Davies wanted to make up for the crash in yesterday's Race 1 which cost him first place and brought him no points in the world championship standings, and today he finally succeeded, hitting the mark in the second race of the Pirelli Aragon Round first victory of the season.

The Welsh driver kept a close eye on Jonathan Rea, who for his part struggled quite a bit this weekend: in parc fermé, despite the regret of seeing his streak of consecutive victories interrupted since the beginning of the year, in any case 5 in 6 races, he said he was understandably satisfied of a weekend in which he didn't feel 100% on the Ninja which on this track is a step behind compared to the Panigale.
Jonathan Rea therefore manages to take home the maximum and leads in the world championship standings with a 50 point advantage over second, Chaz Davies who regains the position from Tom Sykes, fourth today but more than 10 seconds behind the leader, testimony to a difficult weekend conditioned by problems on the bike and health problems.

The celebration at Ducati is completed by yet another podium for Marco Melandri, third today, not even three seconds from the head of the group: the Italian rider now seems to have made the Panigale "his" and now that he manages to stay permanently among the top three he aims strong at the top step, starting from the next round in Assen.

Returning to today's race, one of those most disappointed with the final result is certainly Alex Lowes: the Briton started from first position, by virtue of the new regulation, and managed to stay with the leading group for most of the laps to be covered. , giving him a lot of trouble thanks to his talent combined with a newfound competitiveness of his Yamaha.
In the final stages, however, he missed the entrance to an S and was forced to leave the track to avoid falling and hitting other riders, finishing only 13th.
Regret that increases seeing the good fifth place achieved by teammate Michael Van der Mark, testimony to the fact that the YZF-R1 performed very well at Motorland.
Sixth place for Xavi Fores who makes up for yesterday's unlucky race in which he had to retire due to a sudden fire on his Panigale, ahead of Jordi Torres and Leandro Mercado, the first RSV4 Aprilia to cross the finish line.
In ninth position we find Eugene Laverty followed by Leon Camier who completes the Top10.
Once again an uphill race for Red Bull Honda with Stefan Bradl 12th and Nicky Hayden forced to retire.

Appointment in just under a month, the weekend from 28 to 30 April, at the historic Assen track with the Acerbis Dutch Round, the fourth round of the season.
