Superbike, Pirelli Riviera di Rimini Round: Free Practice 2. The second free practice session at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli also recently ended, which was preceded at 12 by a touching minute of silence in the pit lane in memory of Fabrizio Pirovano, who passed away after a long illness just a few days ago ago, and Luis Salom, Moto45 rider who died during free practice for the Catalunya GP in Barcelona, two weeks ago.

Under a dull sun but with quite high temperatures and humidity, Nicky Hayden set the best time, 1'35.263, ahead of Markus Reiterberger and Tom Sykes, 1'35.385 and 1'53.388 respectively.

Fourth time, which then becomes fifth in the combined of the two sessions, for Jordi Torres, a clear improvement compared to this morning's session, followed by a Chaz Davies who was not particularly incisive today perhaps due to work more dedicated to the race pace than to the flying lap: the Welshman ends the day with the sixth fastest time overall.

If the Ducati rider was a bit disappointing today, the same can be said of World Champion Jonathan Rea, who qualifies with the eighth fastest time for tomorrow's Tissot-Superpole, also behind Alex Lowes on the R-1.
The top seven, up to Rea, in the second session were within two and a half tenths, testifying to the great balance seen today: with qualifying the real potential of the bikes will be discovered.

Eighth time of the session, the ninth for the combined, for Michael Van Der Mark who is struggling to recover from the performance crisis that torments him since Imola, after a couple of excellent podiums at the beginning of the season: with him the gap from the leader increases to almost 4 tenths.

The one who seems to have had some problems is Davide Giugliano, who only finished ninth in FP2 but qualified for Tisso-Superpole 2 with the fourth fastest time thanks to this morning's best lap.

Closing the top ten times is Xavi Fores with the Panigale of Team Barni Racing, who qualifies for the second heat of tomorrow's Tissot-Superpole, ahead of Lorenzo Savadori in eleventh, who nevertheless demonstrated good pace, and opens the series of drivers who will instead have to switch to SP1.
Among these we have: West, Roman Ramos of the Go Eleven team, Niccolò Canepa who replaces Sylvain Guintoli this weekend, a Leon Camier who is not brilliant today and Alex De Angelis.

We'll see them back on track tomorrow morning for the third free practice session, scheduled for 8am, followed by qualifying, which will start at 45am, and above all Race 10 which will start at 30pm.
