The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team immediately returned to the track at Mugello for a day of testing, Wednesday 17 May, immediately after the Motul Italian Round on the Imola track, which concluded with the celebration for Chaz Davies' extraordinary double. private with Marco Melandri.

The man from Ravenna, after third place in Race 1, suffered a lot in the second heat due to problems he himself defined as "anomalous" on his Panigale 1199 R, so he took advantage of the session to understand the causes.
Melandri worked a lot, putting together 105 laps in total and carrying out numerous comparative tests to evaluate different electronics and chassis solutions, with positive feedback.

As a reward for his dominance at Imola, Chaz Davies had the opportunity to complete some laps on the Ducati DesmoSedici that Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso take to the track in MotoGP.

The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team will return to the track at Donington for the sixth round of the 2017 Superbike World Championship, scheduled for 26 to 28 May.

“It was an intense and productive day. We worked a lot on the geometries. In particular, we focused on two areas: acceleration stability during gear changes and front-end feedback when entering corners" – he said Marco Melandri – “Until an hour before the end I wasn't particularly satisfied, then in the last few outings I found positive sensations. I would have liked to try some more electronic modifications, but that's okay. We have collected important indications to improve our performance in the next races."
