An exciting second heat for the Welsh driver who beats Rea and Sykes with a double overtaking.

Superbike, Fassi French Round, Race 2. The second day of racing on the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit featured a heat on a dry track but despite this it was by no means predictable and unexciting.
The absolute protagonists were Tom Sykes, Jonathan Rea and Chaz Davies who gave life to an absolutely exciting three-way battle, with fast laps and overtaking attempts, which began at the start and only ended at the checkered flag.

Davies starts well but has to give way after a few laps to Sykes and Rea who at that moment had more with their Ninja, but with about 10 laps to go the Welsh driver, who had literally dominated in the dry on Friday, filled the entire gap.
Six laps from the end comes the masterpiece overtaking, identical to the one made by Sykes on the first lap, right on him and the reigning champion: taking advantage of yet another attempt by Rea, Davies overtakes them both and launches a breakaway towards the flag chess.
The Welsh rider thus completes an extraordinary double for Ducati, marking his seventh this season.

Looking at the rankings, given a second place that Rea conquered with his nails on a never-tamed Sykes, the gaps unfortunately say that the reigning champion is still far away at +81, 426 against Davies' 345, with Sykes having 378 points .
For the manufacturers, Kawasaki is 15 points away from the world title: 502 against the 417 Ducati with 100 points available.
So the one who smiles is always him, the leader of WorldSbk for two years now, who by virtue of an extraordinary gap built up to Laguna Seca, can allow himself to think, even if from what we saw on the track today he took risks and quite a few.

In fourth place, almost ten seconds away, first of the "humans" we find Leon Camier who wins the duel with Van der Mark and once again equals the best result of the season, waiting for the coveted podium to arrive.
Sixth place for Lorenzo Savadori ahead of a reborn Jordi Torres who returns to the top 10 after yesterday's dull race, in which he suffered greatly from the uncertain track conditions, completely lacking feeling with his BMW.
Eighth place for Sylvain Guintoli who would certainly have hoped for a better result on his home track, also considering that he still has to find a place for next year, given that Van der Mark will join Yamaha to team up with Alex Lowes.
Lowes suffered yet another crash with about 10 laps to go, a sign that he was struggling to keep the bike given his precarious physical condition, due to the injury he suffered in Aragon in MotoGP: back on the bike he finished in 19th place.
In ninth position we find Nicky Hayden, who finishes together with Xavi Fores in the top ten: a decidedly complicated weekend for the American on a track where he had never competed and with a weather that certainly didn't help him in the search for feeling Right.

The World Series Championship will return in two weeks, from 14 to 16 October, in Jerez de la Frontera for the 12th round of the season, the penultimate.
