Superbike, GEICO Motorcycle US Round, Race 2. Team Althea BMW concludes the second heat at Madza Raceway in Laguna Seca with both riders in the points and considering that for one of them, Raffaele De Rosa, it was the absolute debut not only on this track but also in WorldSBk, it is truly a satisfactory result.

The young Neapolitan rider, who replaced Markus Reiterberger who was recovering from the fracture of the D12 vertebra suffered at Misano three weeks ago, races for Team Althea in STK1000 and had only had the opportunity to ride the S 1000 RR on the test day scheduled after the Rimini Riviera Round.
With these premises, obtaining an eleventh place finish, managing not to lose concentration after the interruption of the race and the subsequent restart, is truly an impressive result.
After the summer break, De Rosa will resume his pursuit of the STK1000 title at the Lausitzring.

For Jordi Torres, however, a good sixth place arrived at the end of a good battle with Xavi Fores and Nicky Hayden, to fight for the positions just below the podium.
Torres confirmed that many changes were made to the bike's set-up thanks to the data obtained in the first heat, which he finished eighth, and this was decisive in improving his pace in race 2.
With the points gained in Laguna, the Spaniard consolidates his seventh position in the world championship standings which he occupies with 155 points.

“Today we had a very different race than yesterday, and we were also more competitive” – he said Jordi Torres – “We changed the set-up of the bike a lot between the first and second race and by doing so, we were able to understand a lot during the heat and we will use the information collected already in the next races. I'm happier today, although I know I'll have to be a little more aggressive if I want to overtake... However, we will continue our work also during the summer break to better prepare for the last phase of the season."

“I'm very happy because, after yesterday's fall, today I managed to finish the race and also get some points” – he said Raffaele De Rosa after his first WorldSBK weekend – “The first part of the race, the first 12 laps maybe, everything went well. I wasn't used to doing so many laps, especially compared to the Stock races and I therefore lost a little ground to West and Ramos who were ahead of me, to finish in eleventh place. All in all, I'm happy and today certainly went better than Friday and Saturday."
