Superbike Laguna Seca: Niccolò Canepa will take to the track again in place of Guintoli

Superbike, GEICO Motorcycle US Round. The 2014 WorldSBK Champion Sylvain Guintoli can't make it to the track even for the ninth round of the season, scheduled for this weekend at Madza Raceway in Laguna Seca: replacing him will once again be Niccolò Canepa, former Yamaha rider in STK1000.

We remember that the Frenchman was injured during the Imola round during the second heat of the Tissot-Superpole, suffering a bad ankle fracture which he is struggling to recover completely: only two weeks ago, present at the Yamaha garage in Missano, he was still forced to move with crutches.

Canepa had already been called in place of Guintoli on the occasion of the Misano round, where he did well by obtaining a seventh and ninth place in the two races, in addition he was also able to carry out a few days of testing, both before and after the Pirelli event Riviera di Rimini Round, to work on the feeling with the YZF-R1.
We would also like to remind you that this will be the sixth time for the Genoese rider at the Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca, after his previous experiences in MotoGP and WorldSBK.

With him there will be Alex Lowes who, after the difficulties encountered in Misano due to less than perfect physical conditions due to the fracture to his left collarbone suffered in the fall in Sepang, will be in California in decidedly good shape. ta
