Superbike, Gaerne Spanish Round, Race1. What we saw on the track after the summer break was Chaz Davies in amazing form, a driver capable of winning 4 of the 5 races held between September and October: after the victory in Race 1 in Germany the sensational double came in France and the triumph in the first heat in Jerez de la Frontera, where the 12th round of the championship is taking place.

What is especially impressive is the ease with which the Welsh rider rides his Panigale, which he has mastered over these three years of intense work and which now responds perfectly to his movements and his riding style: the risk of the tires in Germany in this sense is emblematic.
Today on the Andalusian circuit to overtake first Rea and then Sykes, and then fly towards the checkered flag, he didn't use tactics but only riding instinct and sensitivity, a sign that the bike goes exactly where Davies wants it to go.
It is not the first time we have seen performances of this type, but in Aragon and Imola, despite the doubles, the dominance was not so evident: a Davies in this state of form only increases the regrets for an unmanaged first part of the season at its best, for example in Australia, in Asia and at Misano at home to name a few.
A Davies like this could have fought for the title until the end.

“I'm probably going through the best moment of my career. Maybe it's a bit late but we can just continue like this and see what level we get to next year” – said the Welsh rider.

If one part of the garage is taking pleasure in celebrating, on the other there is regret for yet another season gone wrong: Davide Giugliano, back on track after missing the round at Magny-Cours, had to abandon Race 1 due to a fall after just two laps.
The Roman rider spoke again about the chronic grip problems at the rear: a sign that, unlike Davies, the Panigale is not a bike he has ever felt is his, paying perhaps excessively for the absence of three quarters of last season to serious injuries.

“Unfortunately we had braking problems right from the start. We will study solutions to improve the front end in view of tomorrow's race. Physically I'm fine, and I can't wait to get better” – he said David Giugliano.

Appointment then with Race 2 at 13pm on Sunday 00 October.
