Superbike Jerez, FP2: Tom Sykes is the fastest at the end of free practice

Superbike, Gaerne Spanish Round, Free Practice 2. Tom Sykes the fastest rider at the end of the two free sessions in Jerez de la Frontera, for the 12th round of the World Championship: the Englishman takes the lead ahead of Chaz Davies, who manages to improve compared to the morning, and Alex Lowes .

With temperatures rising compared to the first session, the drivers were able to enjoy near-perfect conditions to improve their performances.
Michael van der Mark finished fourth, just +0.120 behind Sykes, and preceded Fores who is the first Spaniard in the standings, thanks to the good pace he maintained also in the afternoon.

Sylvain Guintoli improved from the morning session, taking the sixth fastest time which earned him entry into Tissot-Superpole 2, as did Nicky Hayden who finished seventh ahead of Leon Camier, who crashed in the final minutes of the session.

Jonathan Rea is in ninth position, ahead of Davide Giugliano who reaches the top ten: the Roman gave a great performance despite the pain in his recently injured right shoulder.

Tomorrow, Saturday 15 October, the action on the track will begin at 8am with a 45-minute free practice session, then it will get serious from 15am with the Tissot-Superpole, which will release the starting grid for the two races.
The checkered flag for Race 1 is set for 13pm.
