Superbike Imola: Tom Sykes ahead of everyone in the first free practice session
The first nine are enclosed in one second. No easy return, however, for Noriyuki Haga.
In the first free practice session in Imola, Tom Sykes recorded the best time.
The top nine drivers in the ranking, However, they're really close, all packed into less than a second.
The second place in the ranking is currently in the hands of David Giugliano followed by Jonathan Rea and Marco Melandri.
Fifth place for the leader Sylvain Guintoli, sixth for Michel Fabrizio and seventh for the returning Leon Haslam.
Eighth and ninth times for the home Ducati riders Ayrton Badovini and Carlos Checa.
Difficult frees for Eugene Laverty who was unable to do better than the twelfth time.
Not an easy return for Noriyuki Haga either who, riding the BMW of the Grillini Dentalmatic SBK Team, finished in the seventeenth time.
The drivers will return to the track at 15.30pm for the first qualifying session.
