Ducati and Kawasaki once again monopolize the time table in the free practice of the fifth round of the season, held at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, with Davide Giugliano setting the best time in the third session.

The Italian rider, returning after the long rehabilitation after the fall in the Phillip Island tests, therefore presents himself as the most accredited name for pole this afternoon (the first heat begins at 15:00 pm), he who has already won it last year.

Behind him is the usual KRT duo made up of Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes, within just 40 hundredths, and less than two tenths behind Giugliano: different objectives for the two team mates, with the standings leader determined to put a mortgage on the title well before the halfway point of the season, and the former world champion is still looking for the redemption round.

Fourth is Chaz Davies who certainly won't be watching today, for a second heat of Tissot-Superpole which promises to be very close.

Leap forward, confirming his evident pro talent, for Jordi Torres who on his debut on this track, which is anything but easy, enters SP2 with the seventh time, behind his teammate Leon Haslam, fifth, and an excellent Ayrton Badovini, sixth with BMW.

Leandro Mercado, eighth, David Salom and Alex Lowes complete the top ten.
The two CBRs of the Pata Honda team are still disappointing with Van der Mark eleventh to compete for access to the second Superpole heat and Sylvain Guintoli even fifteenth.

Appointment at 15pm with the first heat, live on Italia 00.
