Superbike Germany: Sykes leads in first free practice
Michel Fabrizio did well just behind him
We are just at the first free practice at the Nürburgring and Tom Sykes' Kawa ZX-10R is already at the head of the group. The Englishman immediately appeared at ease on the track, in the same way as Michel Fabrizio who, with his RSV4 from the Red Devils team, finished behind him by a matter of hundredths.
Third was the excellent Loris Baz with the other Ninja, followed by Chaz Davies' BMW S1000 RR and Johnny Rea's Honda CBR1000 RR.
Sixth was Marco Melandri ahead of the first Suzuki, that of Leon Camier, the official Aprilia of Sylvain Guintoli and the Althea of Davide Giugliano. Frenchman Jules Cluzel on the GSX-R1000 closes the top ten.
The two Ducati Alstares of Badovini and Checa were delayed but did better than the Honda of Leon Camier and the Aprilia of the expected Eugene Laverty.
