We know that immediate reactions are not always the best and Chaz Davies, after taking the time necessary to think with a cool head about the controversial episode which saw him as the protagonist together with Jonathan Rea, published his point of view on his Facebook profile. view.

During the second Tissot-Superpole heat of the Acerbis Dutch Round, Jonathan Rea, now confident of pole, slowed down in a fairly central position on the track, not noticing the arrival of a Davies launched into his fastest lap.
The angry Welshman then asked his colleague for explanations in parc fermé, who did not believe he had carried out any incorrect or dangerous manoeuvre: at that point Davies himself controversially asked him to apologize and the discussion continued in even heated tones .
It was then the Race Direction who put an end to the incident by implicitly agreeing with the Welsh Ducati rider, demoting the reigning Kawasaki champion by three positions on the grid.

Davies regretted the tone he expressed and apologized, this time very sincerely, aware that he is a role model for younger people and must always behave accordingly.

“Now that things are calm after the Assen weekend, I'd like to put what happened during Superpole 2 into the right context. I don't think everything was clear at the time, so I think it's necessary to talk about the whole thing.
First of all, I raise my hands and apologize for the language used. I'm sorry that it was all broadcast live on TV and I apologize if anyone felt offended. In the heat of that moment I expressed myself #withoutfilters. I realize that we are a model to follow for younger people and this was certainly not a good example."
While I regret my language, I don't mind addressing the issue by explaining my course of action. I don't need to explain that this sport is dangerous and not that there is anything more dangerous than a driver standing on the "racing" line. Having a rider who turns slowly into the path of the other riders during the last lap of the Superpole is another level of danger."
