Superbikes | Bautista raced in less than perfect conditions at Imola
Medical tests revealed a vertebral fracture
The Imola round was not the most exciting for Alvaro Bautista, not so much for the final result which saw him beaten in the race by Jonathan Rea for the first time in the season, but for the general performance.
In fact, the Spaniard seemed subdued compared to what he was used to, also considering that he had no experience of the difficult Italian track and that, as he himself declared, the layout of the track highlighted the defects of his Ducati Panigale V4 R.
On the eve of the round in Jerez de la Frontera, two weeks after the one in Imola, Alvaro Bautista confesses however that he did not race in perfect physical condition due to an injury which occurred during training: he fell while doing motocross and struggled with severe pain on my back for the entire race weekend.
Medical tests following the Imola round revealed the fracture of a vertebra.
Despite his physical problems, however, he arrives at the Jerez de la Frontera Round physically ready and determined to redeem himself!
