SSP | Acerbis Czech Round, FP: Cluzel dominates free practice in Brno

Jules Cluzel (NRT) overtook Sandro Cortese (Kallio Racing) with six minutes remaining in free practice for the seventh round of the FIM Supersport World Championship, which is being held at the Autodromo Brno: the Frenchman took advantage of his rival's fall halfway through round, scoring the first half.

The German's crash in Turn 5 forced the stewards to raise the red flag: Cortese finished his Friday here and now hopes to be able to fully recover his form for tomorrow, given that the fight for the title is very close.

Third time for Randy Krummenacher (BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team), who took the lead in the early stages followed by Ayrton Badovini (MV Agusta Reparto Corse by Vamag), the best non-Yamaha rider of the day.

Federico Caricasulo (GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team) beat his teammate and title rival Luicas Mahias (GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team), finishing fifth fastest, while the reigning champion was sixth. Behind them, Thomas Gradinger (NRT) set the seventh fastest time, Anthony West (EAB antwest Racing) was eighth on the ZX-6R.

Raffaele De Rosa (MV Agusta Reparto Corse by Vamag), seeking his fourth consecutive podium in WorldSSP, managed to set the ninth fastest time on Friday, while Sheridan Morais (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) recorded the tenth fastest time, returning directly in tomorrow's Superpole 2.
