In the second free practice session of the sixth round of the World Series Championship, which is being held on the legendary Donington Park track in England, Tom Sykes takes the lead and takes the best time ahead of Jonathan Rea.

With the asphalt still very damp from the morning rain, the Kawasaki rider clocked an excellent 1'38"593 thanks to which he distanced himself from his teammate by half a second and sent the clear message that he wanted to take back the "throne" of Donington, which eluded him last year in Race 2 after an incredible sequence of nine consecutive victories.

Behind the two elusive Kawasakis, we find Alex Lowes, the only one able to contain the gap in less than a second, and Leon Camier who confirms the fourth time of the first round and seems physically much better than he was in Imola.

Fifth time for Loris Baz, comfortable with the BMW on this track at least for the moment, followed by Lorenzo Savadori on the Aprilia who clearly improves on his morning reference.
The Ducatis are still far away: the first Panigale in the standings is that of Team Barni with Xavi Fores, seventh ahead of Marco Melandri and Chaz Davies, with delays ranging from a second and a half upwards.

The third free practice session, the last valid for direct access to tomorrow's Tissot-Superpole, will start at 17pm Italian time.
