It was a good weekend held by Leandro Mercado (IODARacing) in Jerez de la Frontera, venue of the twelfth round of the World Championship of production derivatives: in Race2 the Argentine was the author of an excellent performance which allowed him to cross the finish line in ninth position.

After eleventh place in Race1, Mercado went on the attack, managing to recover four positions on his rivals, thanks to decisive overtaking and an excellent feeling he had with his Aprilia RSV4 RF.

“I am satisfied with my race” – he declared Market – “In the morning warm up we tried a very different configuration compared to yesterday but I would say it didn't work. So for the race we had to shake things up and take some risks, and I would say that this time things went well. I always felt at ease. The first laps were very close: Camier, Torres, Ramos... I fought to overtake them, but when I managed to pass that group I was able to push even harder. My race pace was really good, I managed to catch Forès and Guintoli who were ahead of me but I wasn't able to pass them. I'm happy with Sunday and with having taken another step. Let's look ahead and continue working as always."

The next round, the last of this season, will take place at the Losail circuit, Qatar, from 2 to 4 November.
