SBK| Pirelli Spanish Round, Race1: seventh place for Lorenzo Savadori
Tiring race for the Italian rider of the Milwaukee Aprilia team
The first race of the twelfth and penultimate round of the season, held today on the Jerez de la Frontera track, was very demanding for the drivers of the production-derived World Championship, also due to the great Andalusian heat.S
The Milwaukee Aprilia team crossed the finish line in seventh and eighth position, respectively with Lorenzo Savadori and Eugene Laverty, author of a good comeback after an error in the first laps had relegated him to the back of the group.
From the sixth spot on the grid, Savadori settled in seventh position, engaging in a nice duel with Sylvain Guintoli (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing), which however was more incisive.
“It was a challenging race” – he declared Lorenzo Savadori – “I struggled more than yesterday's FP2, when the conditions were similar, but I had less grip on the rear, and I lost a lot of time at the start. At the end I had to give up the duel with Sylvain because the front was quite finished. We definitely have to work to try to improve in these areas in view of tomorrow, especially in the first phase of the race and in the final laps."
