SBK | Gp Misano SuperPole Race: Bautista wins, fear for Petrucci and Lecuona
Race stopped before the checkered flag, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu second
SBK Gp Misano Super pole Race – Alvaro Bautista won the Super pole Race of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, fifth stage of the 2023 World Superbike Championship, held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
The Ducati rider, who started from pole, fought throughout the race with a very aggressive Toprak Razgatlıoğlu capable of leading the race for several laps. Only a red flag caused by the bad crash between Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona interrupted the battle between the two. On the third step of the podium Michael Rinaldi.
Axel Bassani closed out of the podium and took the checkered flag in fourth place, ahead of Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes.
Seventh place for Andrea Locatelli ahead of Xavi Vierge and Garrett Gerloff. Phillip Oettl completes the top ten.
Of note, as anticipated, were the crashes of Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lekuona, with both riders needing to be rescued on the track. The rider from Terni had been sanctioned with a Long Lap Penalty a few steps earlier for a contact with Aegerter.
