SBK | GP Misano Race 2: Locatelli, “I would have liked to do something more”

SBK GP Misano Yamaha – Andrea Locatelli finished Race 2 of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, fifth stage of the 2023 World Championship, in sixth position.

Andrea Locatelli recovered after a disappointing Race 1 to finish in P7 and P6 in today's races. “Loka” took a step forward in performance to hold off a strong attack from Danilo Petrucci (Barni Ducati) in the long test of Race 2 and maintain third position in the Riders' Championship behind Razgatlıoğlu.

“I'm still a bit sad about this weekend, because I would have liked to do something more. But it wasn't easy, especially yesterday in Race 1 – I don't know what happened but it was a big problem with the feeling with the rear tyre. So, in the end P6 in Race 2 I'm not so happy but not that far from the podium and it's a big improvement so now we have to look forward. I'm happy with today's fight, because we did 21 laps without errors with Petrucci behind - if I had made even a small mistake I would have lost the position, but I also tried to fight to reduce the gap to Xavi Vierge but perhaps with a little more we could have even fought for the podium. We have another opportunity at the end of this month at Donington, it's a good track to see if we can improve a bit. The big problem here was on the braking points, so in the UK it will be good to understand if it's the same or we can work on this part, then we'll see. I always want to say thank you to Yamaha, because we are working hard and pushing for more."
