SBK | Gp Jerez FP1: Session conditioned by bad weather, very little action on the track
Only 4 riders on track, Mercado the fastest
SBK GP Jerez FP1 – The first free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the Superbike World Championship scheduled for this weekend in Jerez saw very little action on the track
Due to the adverse weather conditions only very few drivers decided to take to the track. Among these Leandro Mercado riding the Honda CBR1000 RR-R of the PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda team recorded the best time of 2:01.309. The Spanish driver is on track to replace the injured Eric Granado
Together with the Spaniard, only three other riders took to the track. Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) set the second fastest time, followed by Florian Alt on the Honda CBR1000 RR-R of the Holzhauer Racing Promotion team and Oliver Konig on the Kawasaki ZX-10RR of the Orelac Racing MOVISIO team.
The second session in the afternoon could therefore be determined in view of the races on Saturday and Sunday.
