The current season has so far been quite complicated for Chaz Davies (Aruba.ita Racing – Ducati): his last success came in Race 2 at MotorLand Aragon and since then he has only led 10 laps, at Imola, in Race 2 , and only reached the podium in four rounds.

Too little for a rider who aims to take the world title away from Jonathan Rea, even if the competition did worse than him as Davies still remains second in the general classification, more than 60 points behind the leader.

The WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, scene of the next round of the championship, could represent the right opportunity to make a change to the season: the Californian track has always been favorable to Davies who here, together with Tom Sykes, has won three times in WorldSBK.
On top of that, he has also competed in three full seasons of AMA competition, making him one of the most experienced drivers here.

“It's a complicated track, with many technical points. The curves and elevations change a lot, there are fast turns and hairpin bends, including the Corkscrew itself. It's difficult to make a setup for the bike, because you need stability, but also agility, so you have to look for the right compromise” – he said Chaz Davies – “I think it suits my style, I really enjoy riding here and I can't wait to get back on the Panigale R to build on what we found in Brno and aim for even better results.”
