Recovery from the bad accident in the Thai round, which caused him to fracture his pelvis, was complicated for Eugene Laverty (Milwaukee Aprilia): returning to the track for the Imola races, the Irishman had to grit his teeth and have the patience to gradually regain physical shape.

At Imola and Donington he had always managed to finish the races but without ever feeling strong: this weekend in Brno however things went completely differently and Laverty not only managed to maintain a good race pace but was also the protagonist of beautiful duels.
The Aprilia rider finished sixth ahead of teammate Savadori and is very happy with how it went: “It went better than yesterday, we were surprised in qualifying by our potential, as well as in the race. We were a bit bottled up at the start, but coming back strong at the end of the race was nice. I generally fall back a bit in the race, but today it was the opposite."

“The circuit is slippery, but it was nice to see the others too. Usually it's just my problem, so it's comforting to see that it was a general thing” – he continued Eugene Laverty – “It's nice to start from the front row, I was on the second row today and it was great to start from there. But van der Mark almost kicked me out and that made me lose a few positions. This time it will be nice to start from third position and with the new regulation it is good to have the opportunity to enter the first corner and maintain the position."
