Nicky Hayden: Family seeks damages from investorNicky Hayden: Family seeks damages from investor

Nicky Hayden fatal accident – Today's news is that the family of Nicky Hayden (who died last May 22nd in Cesena hospital from injuries sustained in a serious road accident while training on his bicycle near the Misano racetrack) has made the request of compensation for damages to the driver of the car that had hit the unfortunate American driver.

The request as reported Il Resto del Carlino it still needs to be quantified and the report from the Rimini Prosecutor's Office will be decisive.

The letter was sent by Moreno Maresi, the lawyer trusted by the Hayden family. On the other hand, the driver of the car immediately turned to one of the two lawyers who are following him, Pierluigi Autunno, to decide what to do.

As reported by Il Resto del Carlino, there is no doubt about the dynamics. Hayden would not have given the right of way, colliding with the Peugeot, which however would have traveled above 50 km/h, the limit in force on that stretch. As mentioned, the opinion of the Rimini Prosecutor's Office will be decisive.

If Hayden didn't give the right of way... I don't see what there is to ask for compensation. The other will have exceeded the limit, he will get a fine and related points deduction from the license, but if Hayden had given the right of way... it's not that motorcyclists (among whom I am also...) should always have reason…..

Nicky made a mistake, it's okay. But what if someone had respected the speed limits? The impact would have been less violent and he would probably still be with us.
