MotoGP – Yuki Takahashi comments on the Jerez tests

All in all, it didn't go badly for the MotoGP riders, gathered in Jerez for the first serious confrontation of the season. While heavy rain has lashed much of Spain since the morning, in Andalusia the water only started to soak the track in the last seven minutes of qualifying, without ruining the show. The final result was predictable as far as the two who competed for the BMW offered by the organization were concerned but, behind them, for better or for worse, there was no shortage of surprises.

For Yuki Takahashi, making his debut in MotoGP, it was a matter of grinding out the work without worrying too much about the times. “I am satisfied with the improvements obtained during the three days” she stated. “Today, in particular, we dedicated ourselves to the rear axle.” And if anyone cursed the rain, which prevented him from making a final assault, the wet track was also useful for the Japanese: "I took advantage of the rain in the afternoon to understand how the Honda behaves in the wet, and it seems to me that the character remains more or less the same as what it shows in the dry".
Yuki achieved his best time lapping alone, without direct comparison with his rivals. And in the end she has only one regret: "For me, time is always short."
