MotoGP: Valentino Rossi's unknowns for 2013

Returning to the Japs will be very difficult for Valentino. Unless...

MotoGP: Valentino Rossi's unknowns for 2013MotoGP: Valentino Rossi's unknowns for 2013

Honda and Yamaha may be big competitors, but they are united on the fact that they both don't want to sign Rossi for 2013. The future of the Pesaro rider, after his televised outburst at the end of the Qatar GP, was the subject of long discussions on the possibility of a flashback between Valentino and one of the two Japanese bikes.

Rossi blames the lack of progress from this winter until now on his bike, especially for a chronic understeer and an engine output that was too far from his driving style. After Rossi's outburst, many thought that the #46 will almost certainly not remain on the Bolognese bike next year; indeed Valentino also had to deny rumors that the couple would even separate during this season. But the chances of his return on a Yamaha or a Honda according to insiders (see also our exclusive interview with Carlo Pernat) are very difficult, also because the official teams are highly armored, although to be honest the contracts of all the big names will expire at the end of this year. Honda currently fields Stoner and Pedrosa and if one of the two changes they will certainly focus on a young man like him Marquez, which has already entered the Repsol orbit some time ago.

As far as Yamaha is concerned, there is the determination to continue with Jorge Lorenzo at least until 2014 and the Spaniard's presence in the team was the cause of the breaking of the bond between Rossi and the house of the three tuning forks. Livio Suppo, Racing Consultant, the HRC team boss told MCN “It will be difficult to see Valentino on a Honda again. We have two very strong and fast riders and with all due respect to Vale, I don't see why we should change." Also at MCN, at the end of 2011 Lynn Jarvis of Yamaha he said "I don't think there is any possibility of seeing Rossi and Lorenzo again in the same team".
At this point Rossi could only go to a satellite team like Tech 3 Yamaha, Gresini Honda or LCR Honda, but how would one of these teams pay the monstrous salary that Rossi currently has?

Unless the Pesaro native decides to create his own team satellite. Several rumors speak of a sponsorship agreement already ready for Valentino with Coca-Cola to take a Yamaha and create a team all for himself, managed by his trusted men, Jeremy Burgess first and foremost. Although it must be taken into account that for 2013 Dorna wants to continue to maintain the limit of only 4 bikes for each manufacturer and Yamaha has been giving the Tech 3 team its two available bikes for many years. Unless for Rossi and all the spectacle he creates with his races, Ezpeleta decides to turn a blind eye.

Yes but Rossi would never race in a satellite team, regardless of whether it belongs to another.
Unless they guarantee him 150% that his bike - be it Honda or Yamaha - will in all respects be a third official bike (which I honestly see as a bit harsh, if only for "political" reasons).
Barring any big surprises, I really think it will happen like this:
Rossi will leave MotoGP for cars, perhaps already halfway through the Championship if he finds a contractual agreement with DucAudi, and will move the mountain of money he manages to move with sponsorships to 4 wheels. If it's not immediately, it certainly will be next season.
    You will see…

he will definitely remain stranded, what do the satellite teams pay him with? one idea would be to pay him with the results that he will obtain and therefore he would receive almost nothing... but Uncle is ready (maybe)
Coca-Cola does not sponsor dangerous sports
    (this is bullshit)
Audi has no use for the Rossi....so home.

  • Cikita22 said:

But it can't be that, at a certain point, Rossi will also be hit with the so-called ones given that he hasn't brought home a result of his caliber for more than a year, and an outburst is all there is to it. Let's see, instead, if the outburst is just an end in itself, have they really managed to fix the desmo trabicolo no!!

How much bullshit do you write!!!! fast yes fast no Rossi is still the media king of all motor sport and the manufacturers won't let him slip away especially Yamaha which is the one that since the lack of yellow on all that blue says it can't find a sponsor!! !!! (complaining) you'll see!!!! the money king rules even if I don't think that Rossi's career is at its end, on the contrary!!!!! think for some even in 2007 it had to be withdrawn because it was boiled in fact 2 more titos came out!!!!

The uncle has always been there and will always be there, he will definitely find a solution for the businessman!
    I don't think he'll let it slip.
It is likely that Coca-Cola will decide to embark on a new adventure.
Let's hope he returns to a Jap which I'm anxious to hear later when he comes again behind the 3 champions (Casey, Lorenzo and Daniel) the new excuses to have some great laughs.

Audi doesn't care about reds??? if you are convinced... I say that in percentage Audi bought Ducati at 60% because there are Rossi and they advertise and at 40% for the rest!!!!

  • W_il_Sic said:

    Casey and Jorge are there,
but I guarantee you that - WITH THE SAME MOTORCYCLE - Pedrosa would never get ahead of Rossi even if Rossi stopped to drink a beer between one bend and another...

  • W_il_Sic said:

Audi bought Ducati because - OUTSIDE MotoGP - it is Italian excellence in the world, and it brings with it a baggage of charm and seduction in terms of sports motorcycles that the Germans, no matter how good and rich they are, can only buy it, because from They can't do it alone...
On a commercial level, if there weren't BMW's GS (800 and 1200), everyone would hate their bikes.
They had to buy the Husqvarna to have a top-level Cross/motard bike, now they've bought Ducati to have the Sportiva with a capital S.
I don't think that Rossi had a role in a business as large as 860 million euros, but what is certain is that Audi will have thought that as an image it's better to have it than not to have it.
Let's not forget that on the globe there is no other sporting champion who can enjoy the same number of admirers and fans as the Doctor.
Right or wrong, whether his detractors like it or not, this is the reality.
And in the age in which the market is global and marketing reigns supreme over any other business tool, this is no small matter.

If I were Rossi at the cost of selling my ass I would do anything to win in ducats......

I think like you Mauro, but I believe that in this regard the most reliable truth was said by Pernat and that is that "that type of engine" is not good for the way Rossi has driven all his life and I had also read this thing since another journalist from Corriere della Sera: Rossi and Ducati are simply not made for each other.
    They don't work together.
It's a shame, however, that many other riders, indeed all the riders before Rossi, had enormous problems riding the Ducati.
    Except Stoner.
But Stoner's performance, paradoxically, is confirmation that certain technical characteristics of the bike must absolutely match those of the rider.
It's a shame for Ducati that there was only one in the world who could make it go a little further than all the others. This is a big limitation…

Rauss will leave DucAudi to make fun of the German bilot uummm… Stefan Bradl.

Rauss will be fired for this lack of results!

I really don't think that Honda or Yamaha are going to tell you whether or not they want to take Rossi or another rider in the future. Let's remember that not even Ducati passes on Rossi's salary (Philips Morris money), and if he finds a personal Sponsor with the right money he can do (almost) whatever he wants! Without Rossi, motorcycling will lose a lot of spectators. The important thing is that he leaves Zweicati!

after just one race, what a mess for nothing, let's wait for at least half the championship

  • Marco said:

Rossi was born on the slopes and will remain on the slopes... but he is now mature for 4 wheels (he recently raced a 458 Italia... and it wasn't too bad...) wherever he goes they will await him with open arms!

as an old rider I'm sure that the desmo engine
it is not suitable for the GP, old concept engine, only Stoner was left standing a few times, let's remember that he threw away two world championships
this engine cannot be controlled at low speeds and gives an engine boost just by touching the gas, last year 800 cc they cut the connecting rods and just reduced the displacement,,,,,change the engine and that's it

If I had 1 team not only for the image but for the talent I would give false cards for the reds!!! do you know what the problem is? it's just that as long as things are going well everyone goes around dressed in size 46 at the slightest difficulty everyone criticizes!!! it will make you take it all back!!!!

  • andrea z. said:

lucky if you think that for the Rossi frame he had to go against everything and everyone, imagine for the desmocess!!!!

The simplest thing to do is set up a Ducati the way Rossi wants it. Trusses and L-engines look good in museums or on street bikes. What's the point of paying Valentino if Preziosi does whatever the hell he wants??? The team follows Rossi's orders if he wants to win. Audi, take care of it.

Apart from this, it seems to me that too many speculative articles are written.
Rossi, when Yamaha was asleep, gave him a nice wake-up call with an interview of the same type and then won another 2 world championships
The threats often work especially in Italy

In my opinion the real problem is that the Ducati Team Manager (Guareschi) has no experience, demonstrated by having completely redone the bike's chassis speaks volumes. Instead of chasing Vale's quirks, he should have developed and fixed whatever was there. At least he was ahead of the times when he didn't fall. Developing a completely new bike in such a short time and claiming to have immediately achieved podium results seems like a truly beautiful fairy tale to me.

  • Andrea said:

It's a very broad and difficult topic...
I agree that Rossi will hardly be able to return to henhouses with roosters already inside (See Stoner and Lorenzo)... and the fact that he found another rooster was the reason for his farewell to Yamaha.
I think he dug himself a bit of a hole on his own and as mentioned previously, he would hardly accept offers from satellite teams!
I say either superbike (less likely) or... I'll throw it out there, WRC

  • Valentino said:

in my opinion if Vale even just went to yamaha tech3 he would be scary again... Lorenzo and also the kangaroo who he criticizes a lot but in the last 2 seasons in Ducati he won one race and then went down in the next 3...Rossi is anything but boiled. .!

  • Well done Maximus said:

It's obvious that the entire world championship will gain an advantage if Rossi can become competitive again.
If this year is as negative as 2011, it is obvious that the divorce with Ducati will be inevitable.
A big sponsor like Coca Cola could certainly convince Yamaha to provide an official bike and a team all for Rossi.
There would still be another path: During the announcement of the abandonment, Suzuki declared that it wanted to return in 2014 with great fanfare; perhaps with a main sponsor and Rossi could even decide to bring forward his return by a year.
