Alex De Angelis concluded the first day of free practice for the Valencian Community GP (last stage of the 2008 world championship) with the twelfth time, a time obtained with a time of 1'45″085. The San Marino rider of Team Honda San Carlo Gresini was in difficulty in both the first and second practice sessions, despite the fact that he always went fast in the wet. The problem is traction and this is what he will work on with the team tomorrow. He has the microphone.

“Although both of today's free practice sessions took place on a wet track, a condition in which I am usually very fast, we were in difficulty and encountered some traction problems. The track was certainly in very strange conditions and we were aware that the wet set-up used on other occasions would not have proved suitable for this track, which has very smooth asphalt. This in fact made it difficult to make the tires work well; however we have stored a lot of data, so we have useful information to work with for tomorrow. I feel confident because I like this track both in the wet and in the dry and I believe we have everything it takes to do well.”
