MotoGP Test Valencia: Scott Redding “The RCV1000R is a decidedly powerful bike”

Debut today, on the first day of testing for the new duo Scott Redding and the Gresini team. The Briton, 2nd in the Moto2 world championship, began his adventure with the brand new Honda production, the RC1000R, finishing in 11th place, almost 3 seconds behind Jorge Lorenzo. Of course today the Briton didn't take to the track to set the track record, but to start getting familiar with the new bike and the new team. In the end he completed 34 laps in total, mainly dedicated to gaining the necessary confidence with a bike with decidedly different performance from Moto2. Important and concrete synergies were immediately created with the Team and HRC technicians, putting concrete foundations on the apprenticeship work that will be carried out tomorrow.

It's a completely different thing and for this reason I tried to gain confidence little by little. It was also nice to start working with a highly professional team. Overall it was a positive experience. Unfortunately my physical condition is not yet perfect but by working methodically and without exaggerating I can do it. Tomorrow I will try to further refine my "relationship" with this decidedly powerful medium. I will dedicate this second day to also increase synergy with the working group.”
