The first day of MotoGP testing in Valencia, a test planned for 2010, has ended. As already mentioned in a previous news there were 17 MotoGP riders on the track with rookies Marco Simoncelli (Honda Gresini), Alvaro Bautista (Suzuki), Hector Barbera (Ducati) and Hiroshi Aoyama (Scot Racing), as well as Ben Spies who was on the track with the colors of Team Yamaha Tech3. At the end of the day the fastest driver was Casey Stoner, who got over the disappointment of yesterday's fall in the "warm-up lap" and stopped the clock at a time of 1:32.660. The Ducati rider preceded the Yamaha di Jorge Lorenzo need Valentino Rossi, separated by 25 and 166 thousandths respectively. The Pesaro native worked on the new chassis already seen in Brno and showed up on track later than his rivals.

Fourth time instead for the Honda di Dani Pedrosa; the winner of yesterday's race was on track with the new Honda with dark fairing, his gap at the end of the day was 428 thousandths. The Japanese company brought two engine versions and chassis modifications. Pedrosa is followed by the Americans Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies. After yesterday's excellent race, the latter further reduced his gap to the leaders, demonstrating that he already has a feeling with his Yamaha YZR-M1. Behind Spies we find Dovizioso who precedes Mika Kallio, Randy De Puniet and Marco Melandri, on the Team Gresini Honda. His teammate Marco Simoncelli is fourteenth ahead of three other rookies, Alvaro Bautista on Suzuki, Hector Barbera on the Ducati of Team Aspar and the 250cc world champion Hiroshi Aoyama. Also on track are the Moto2s with Kenny Noyes, and Joan Olive with Team Promoracing and Ratthapark Wilairot with Team Stop and Go.
